Lucas Svensson was born in 1973 and studied playwriting at Dramatiska Institutet. He has been playwright in residence at The Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) since 2003. Lucas has also written plays for other theatres including Unga Klara, Unga Riks, Göteborg Stadsteater and Malmö Dramatiska Teatern. Lucas has authored about thirty plays, a few most notable being Fallna från månen (Fallen from the Moon), Frigiven (Released), Strömming på Cattelin (Herrings at Cattelin), Sympati för djävulen (Sympathy for the Devil), Le WEEK-END (The WEEK-END), Peter och Lotta och Stora Landsvägen (Peter and Lotta and the Great Highway), De frusna på torget (The Frozen on the Square), Inget växer utom Stig (och Molly) (Nothing Grows Except for Stig (and Molly), and Blottare och parasiter (Flashers and Parasites). Lucas also works as dramaturge and has adapted works of Calderon, Wedekind and Wesker.
